The Muse Collection by V Starr

Muse, an uphol­stery tex­tile col­lec­tion that cel­e­brates the pow­er of women, is the first prod­uct col­lab­o­ra­tion by V Starr, the South Flori­da design firm found­ed by ten­nis cham­pi­on Venus Williams. The col­lec­tion’s three award-win­ning pat­terns are a jux­ta­po­si­tion of the soft­ness clas­si­cal­ly asso­ci­at­ed with fem­i­nin­i­ty and the fierce under­ly­ing qual­i­ties of per­se­ver­ance, strength, and commitment.

Mul­ti­ple rounds of hand-drawn art­work went back and forth between Williams and V Starr Prin­ci­pal Sonya Haf­fey, and Wolf-Gor­don CCO Mary­beth Shaw and tex­tile design­er Kathrin Hagge, to arrive at three uplift­ing pat­terns: Ele­na, Fri­da and Ora. Named for women that the V Starr team admires, the designs use a series of motifs that ref­er­ence and cel­e­brate female strength. In a nod to uni­ty and cama­raderie among women world­wide, each of the col­lec­tion’s col­or names include the pro­nouns ​“her”, ​“us”, or ​“we”, as in Heather, Blush, and Seaweed, among others.
