The act of exploring new places brings greater happiness, empathy, and creativity. After the year we’ve all had, we can’t help but reminisce our travels of the past, and we dream of freely wandering again, meeting new people and gaining new experiences. It is in this spirit that we introduce “Wanderlust” — a collection of wallcoverings and upholstery textiles that can take you on a journey to close and faraway locations. Although it is no replacement for a family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard or eating gelato in a piazza in Rome, these products act as a great source of inspiration.
Laguna—The beauty of sedimentary geological formations seen throughout the Southwest is captured in this large-scale linear design. Also inspired by the banded stripes and natural hues of Navajo blankets seen at the Museum of New Mexico, Laguna joins our "Origins" collection of wallcoverings.
Peninsula—A trip to the Philippines might include visiting a plantation of indigenous abaca plants, which yield the course fibers that are woven into some of our grasscloth wallcoverings. Peninsula mimics this look in versatile Type II vinyl.
Peninsula Edge—A museum visit is often on the itinerary when traveling to a new place. When Mario Botta designed San Francisco's original MoMA building, his goal was to create a landmark with "iconic strength." Its simple forms and clear geometry inspired Peninsula Edge, a large-scale graphic interpretation of Botta's postmodern design.
Plaza—A destination on many bucket lists is the exciting city-state of Singapore and its Marina Bay Sands® resort. Our Plaza wallcovering features an irregular grid of tiny windows that remind us of the 2,500+ hotel rooms within the resort. Plaza Mylar reflects the brilliance of the 55-story towers that light up the city's skyline at night.
Introducing our two latest CLAIR® PVC-free Type II wallcoverings that are also bleach cleanable:
Aquatint is a beautifully rendered aquarelle pattern that conjures watery reflections at Claude Monet's garden in Giverny, France. This pattern has multiple neutral and blue-toned hues that enhance the painterly quality of the wallcovering.
Seville is a silk look with horizontal lines that might suggest the thousands of stairs taken to reach a destination, or simply portray a classic, textile look.
New to our Upholstery collection are two hybrid woven/coated textiles:
Erba is a chevron pattern reminiscent of the tops of conifer trees, roofs, and mountains of Italy’s Lake Como. Though beautiful by nature, what makes Erba truly special is the Tekloom® technology that fuses the look of woven fabric with the performance of a coated textile. Erba is ideal for any interior that would benefit from a built-in moisture barrier.
Normandy—Soft to the touch is this chenille upholstery that recalls the velvety grass that grows on the cliffs in Normandy, France. A Supreen™ upholstery fabric, Normandy
embeds a unique moisture barrier into the fiber of the yarn to repel
stains and spills. Combining the feel of a woven textile with the
performance of a coated upholstery, it is ideal for high-traffic areas.
