Danish textile artist, Grethe Sørensen, designed two innovative products for Wolf-Gordon that have been accepted into the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
“Millions of Colors” Sørensen’s first upholstery textile created for commercial applications, incorporates a unique “random weave” technique she invented, which translates pixels from photographs into threads.
“Soft Spots,” a wallcovering pattern designed by Sørensen, is derived from unfocused images of light.
Wolf-Gordon was also instrumental in having an earlier work, “Rush Hour 2/Shanghai,” accepted into the museum’s collection, which is featured in the November 2014 issue of the Cooper Hewitt Design Journal.
