Wolf-Gordon Collaborates with Museum of New Mexico For Origins Collection Update

| New York, NY — Sep­tem­ber 2, 2021 | Wolf-Gor­don debuts Lagu­na, the newest addi­tion to their Ori­gins col­lec­tion of pat­terns inspired by arti­facts housed in the Muse­um of New Mex­i­co. Lagu­na marks the company’s ongo­ing col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Muse­um, which start­ed in 2007 and has led to the devel­op­ment of over twen­ty wall­cov­er­ing patterns.

Lagu­na explores the majesty and allure of New Mexico’s dra­mat­ic, weath­ered land­scape. Its large-scale stri­a­tions and nat­ur­al hues are rem­i­nis­cent of South­west­ern rock for­ma­tions, but also pay homage to the region’s rich craft her­itage. Laguna’s soft lin­ear bands are inspired by tra­di­tion­al Nava­jo wool blan­kets, which are fea­tured through­out the museum’s col­lec­tion. The ear­li­est exam­ples from skilled Nava­jo crafts­peo­ple exhib­it sim­ple striped pat­terns, which were tight­ly woven on hand-oper­at­ed looms. The pat­tern is named for an indige­nous Puebla tribe, who bequeathed this weav­ing tra­di­tion to the Nava­jo in the 17^th century.

Con­sis­tent with Wolf-Gordon’s efforts to increase its library of sus­tain­able offer­ings, Lagu­na is a Type II wall­cov­er­ing pro­duced from 34% pre-con­sumer and 6% post-con­sumer recy­cled con­tent. It is free of con­flict min­er­als, heavy met­als, PFC/PFOA/PFOS, phtha­lates, and sol­vents and is bleach clean­able. Lagu­na is pro­duced in sev­en nature inspired colorways.
