| New York, NY — June 13, 2022 | Introducing a dramatically enhanced product category for Wolf-Gordon, GATHER™ Acoustical Materials adds an ingenious set of acoustic solutions to the Company’s portfolio. As the dynamics and goals of open spaces in commercial interiors evolve post-pandemic, GATHER Acoustical Materials inject beautiful, color-saturated pattern design while helping to reduce noise, whether in workplace, education, hospitality or healthcare interiors.
Formatted in a panel construction, GATHER Acoustical Materials is offered as a kit of parts for designers to customize. Twelve colorways in 4’ x 9’ panels that are ¼” thick can be used alone or cut and combined in color block compositions. GATHER Acoustical Materials can also be digitally printed, V‑groove engraved, laser cut and folded into over twenty different high performing dimensional patterns. GATHER Acoustical Materials can also be layered to reveal contrasting color while enhancing NRC ratings.
“GATHER Acoustical Materials is our contribution to making building inhabitants feel more comfortable in a post-COVID world. We have so missed gathering together these past two years; but in coming together, we are more sensitive to environmental conditions such as noise. In mitigating sound, GATHER Acoustical Materials helps reduce stress and improves the overall effectiveness of spaces for human activity.”
- Marybeth Shaw, Chief Creative Officer, Marketing & Design
In its many iterations, GATHER Acoustical Materials may be applied directly or layered and then applied to walls. It can also contribute to spatial division, either suspended or applied to gravity-bound substrates. GATHER Acoustical Materials can wrap a room or create cozy nooks by mitering the edges.
GATHER Acoustical Materials is constructed from a PET formulation in 100% recycled polyester (60% post-consumer and 40% pre-consumer) and has NRC values ranging from 0.25 to 0.75 (depending on the number of layers, mounting method and dimensional options). It is formaldehyde- and Red List-free and, as part of its Clean Air/Clean Air Gold certification, has extremely low levels of volatile organic compounds. GATHER Acoustical Materials also meets the Global Recycling Standard and fulfills the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 requirement (“Confidence in textiles — Tested for harmful substances”). It is Class A rated for ASTM E84, both adhered and unadhered fire tests, and has a lightfastness value of 4.5 @ 40 hrs.
GATHER Acoustical Materials are previewed at NeoCon 2022 (June 13 – 15) at Wolf-Gordon’s showroom #10 – 161, and will launch in Spring 2023.
