The triangle has countless meanings and symbolism and has been used in patterning produced by many different cultures around the world. The fact that it has three sides often links it to different religious trinities. Unlike other geometric shapes, a triangle’s meaning can be based on its orientation—pointing upward it represents a strong foundation and ascension; pointing downward it becomes unstable. In Triennial, triangles of various sizes are formed, but their orientation can be seen from either perspective. This on-trend geometric pattern doesn’t impose; rather it creates and interesting backdrop to reflect upon.
